There is a rumor in russian comunity which says that XR will improve graphics very good, and will be only ~150mb size. Is it true? Dj: Yes we are adding shader support such as specular bloom (gloss maps) & normal maps (bump maps) to models and adding new props to bring the game update to date with other engines. We have also added new impact decals and blood pools when you are killed. The current test installer is only 104MB! M: 2. Will you add an option of switching on or off some spec. effects? Dj: All new effects we add to the game will have the ability to be turned off in the game options. This means if you have an old pc XR will not affect your performance (frame rate) or your game experience. If however you have a new pc, you can experience Savage has it has never been seen before. M: 3. Announce please minimum and recommended system requepments. Dj: The minimum system specification has not changed, but the recommended requirements are now: CPU: 1.6 GHz or faster RAM: 512Mb or higher Video: Nvidia Geforce 6+ series / ATI Radeon 9+ series (OpenGL 2.0) M: 4. Maybe you will use some sort of physics engine? And what about shaders? Dj: We currently do not have any plans to alter the physics engine but this is a possibility in the future. As I have already stated we have added shader support to the game, but are still debugging performance issues. Gameplay: M: 1. Please tell us what will you change in savage gameplay. Dj: Because balance changes are surrounded by so much controversy we will not be changing the balance of the game until after out first release and only with the full support of the community. M: 2. Will you remove ballists? They noticeably spoil balance. Dj: As I have stated we will be limiting any balance changes until we release our first version of XR. What we might consider with balistas is to reduce the damage they do to units. M: 3. You know, than the current savage engine is not perfect. One of the most worrying problems is UTF. It's very difficult to type russian words with english letters, you know Dj: We will be looking into support UTF8 in the near future, as the Israeli community have also asked for hebrew support in the game. M: 4. When i was russificating Savage, I met serious problem. It consists of some untranslateble words. For example: ... killed ... with .... ... is now available ... has been constructed ect.
